New Mexican Governor Lobbies for Medical Marijuana PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 12 March 2007
High drama abounds in our neighboring state of New Mexico. We only wish Texas could be as exciting. Governor Bill Richardson, also known as presidential candidate Bill Richardson, almost single handedly revived  medical marijuana in New Mexico.

On Thursday (3/8) the New Mexico House defeated the medical marijuana bill that everybody thought was greased to go, by 5 votes. This came after Richardson told the press - time is getting short and I want that medical marijuana bill to sign.

Richardson didn’t weep in defeat, but instead began lobbying the opponents to change their minds. By Saturday the Senate voted in favor of another medical marijuana bill, which originally pertained to using it topically, but changed to incorporate the language in the defeated bill.

Now that’s the kind of governing states need and a good recommendation for taking the presidency.
