Expanding on previous research that has established cannabinoids play an important role in the pathology of Alzheimer's disease, new findings have come to light. A study done by the Scripps Research Institute determined that THC prevents the formation of amyloid plaque, a protein that is found in Alzheimer's patients. |

Curiously a new study, funded in part by the National Drug Abuse Institute (NIDA), splashed across news Internet sites last week entitled, "Marijuana tied to precancerous lung changes." Dr. Reena Mahra and colleagues, from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, reported that smoking marijuana can cause lung changes that may lead to lung cancer. |
