Texans for Medical Marijuana was a statewide grassroots organization that began in January of 2004 with a mission of changing Texas law to protect medical marijuana patients, who possessed a doctor’s recommendation, from arrest and incarceration. The organization ceased operations in May 2007.

We collected medical marijuana patients’ stories to enable others to empathize with the plight of patients and used the stories to illustrate why Texas law should change.

For current information and ways to be involved in state and federal marijuana policy work please visit Marijuana Policy Project at MPP pursues its work along two parallel tracks — making marijuana medically available to patients in need and taxing and regulating marijuana for general adult use.
