Santa Stitch & Goofy Gone! Holiday Meet & Greets END at Disney World! (2026)

Did you miss your chance to hug Santa Stitch or snap a selfie with Santa Goofy at Walt Disney World? Unfortunately, the holiday magic has officially wrapped up, signaling the end of the festive character meet-and-greets for the season. Yes, those adorable, holiday-themed character encounters are now a thing of the past, at least until next year.

Santa Claus himself made appearances leading up to Christmas Day, and the ever-popular Santa Duffy delighted guests during Disney Jollywood Nights. But after December 25th, things got even more fun! Santa Stitch, decked out in his holiday best, greeted guests at Magic Kingdom, while Santa Goofy spread cheer at the other three parks. You might have even seen Santa Goofy stepping in for Duffy at Disney's Hollywood Studios on Christmas Day! But now, all of those holiday meet-and-greets have come to a close.

And this is the part most people miss... It's not just the characters disappearing; physical changes are happening around the parks too! At Disney's Hollywood Studios, the marquee outside Walt Disney Presents has been updated. It no longer boasts "Meet Friends for the Holidays." While the holiday shorts are still playing and the charming Christmas movie displays (including the Muppets Christmas Carol exhibit!) remain open for now, the area that once hosted Santa Claus meet-and-greets is now closed.

But, there's a silver lining for all the Swifties out there! The Taylor Swift Eras Tour costume display is still shining bright for a little while longer, scheduled to stay until later this month. So, if you're a fan, be sure to catch it before it's gone!

Looking ahead, expect the holiday shorts and displays to vanish soon as well. The My Disney Experience app has already removed all listings for Santa Goofy, Santa Stitch, and any other Santa character meet-and-greets. Over the next few days and weeks, the Christmas decorations themselves will be carefully taken down, marking the complete transition back to regular park operations.

But here's where it gets controversial... Some fans argue that the holiday season at Disney should extend further into January, allowing more guests to experience the festive atmosphere. Others appreciate the clean break and the return to normalcy.

Are you sad to see the holiday season end at Walt Disney World, or are you ready for a fresh start? Do you think Disney should extend the holiday festivities longer?
